Missouri S&T to follow remote operations Feb. 18

Missouri S&T will shift to remote operations tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 18), due to predicted weather in the Rolla area. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from midnight Tuesday, Feb. 18, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19. Heavy snow and hazardous traveling conditions are expected.

Classes will be held remotely. Instructors should provide any necessary resources, such as Zoom links or online learning materials.

The Spring Career Fair, originally scheduled for Feb. 18, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25. Get details at career.mst.edu/careerfair.

Staff required to work on-site will be notified by their department or supervisor. Staff who are not required to work on-site are expected to work from home or another off-campus location, if possible.

Essential and other on-campus services will continue but may be limited due to employee availability. These may include:

  • University Police: Missouri S&T’s police department is open 24/7 and can be contacted at 573-341-4300. In an emergency, please dial 911.
  • Residence halls will remain open, and area desks will be staffed.
  • Details on operating hours for dining services are posted online.
  • Student Well-Being and Student Health Services will be fully remote, and no staff will be on site. To reach remote operations staff, email wellbeing@mst.edu for Student Well-Being or mstshs@mst.edu for Student Health. For medical or psychological crises, please use Phelps Health.
  • The Havener Center and Innovation Lab will be open.
  • The Student Design and Experiential Learning Center encourages students to stay safe in inclement weather, but the facility remains accessible. There are no mandatory activities tomorrow that require students to access the design center.
  • The Fitness Center and Student Recreation Center will be closed but may reopen for limited hours or with a reduced schedule prior to the campus resuming normal operations. For up-to-date hours, visit studentrec.mst.edu.

Scheduled in-person events that do not transition to virtual events will be postponed. Please contact the event organizer for details.

Be sure you are signed up for S&T Alert. A text message is the fastest way to receive alerts about emergencies and shifts to remote operations.
