Reminder: remote operations continue for Thursday, Feb. 3
Missouri S&T will continue remote operations through 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, due to severe winter weather conditions. We will continue to monitor the forecast and weather conditions as they develop. Check alert.mst.edu for any updates on operations or weather conditions.
Avoid unnecessary travel. Please avoid any unnecessary travel to give road crews the time and space they need to treat the roads. Reschedule any planned work-related travel if at all possible. If you must travel, drive safely and allow plenty of time to reach your destination.
Classes will continue remotely through Thursday, Feb. 3, as announced. If a class has significant in-person requirements, such as laboratories or clinical classes, arrangements will be made to address the requirements at a later time.
Information for employees. Employees fall into one of the following categories when a shift to remote work and learning takes place:
- Those who aren’t required to work on-site and will telework from home or another location. Staff who do not telework must take paid time off — either personal or vacation days.
- Those who cannot carry out their duties through telework and who are instructed that they are not required on-site to work will be compensated.
- Those who are non-exempt (hourly) and are required to work on-site may be eligible to receive premium pay; those who are required to work on-site and choose not to must take paid time off — either personal or vacation days.
Staff should contact their supervisor if they are unsure which category they fit. As always, faculty, staff and students are expected to exercise good judgment when deciding if they can travel safely to campus during inclement weather.
Update your VPN. To access files remotely, download and install the latest version of S&T’s virtual private network (VPN) client from mst.edu/services/vpn.
Essential on-campus services will continue but may be limited due to employee availability. For dining, the Havener Center’s food court and T.J. Dining Hall will remain open. For menus, hours of operation and more details, visit dineoncampus.com/mst. Custodial and groundskeeping services will continue, and University Police is open 24/7 and can be contacted at 573-341-4300. In an emergency, please dial 911.
The Curtis Laws Wilson Library, S&T’s Student Recreation Center and Fitness Center will be closed Feb. 2-3.
At this time, Missouri S&T’s Spring O’Rama Involvement Fair will continue as planned at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, in the Havener Center.
