S&T to shift to remote operations Thursday and Friday

Missouri S&T will shift to remote operations Thursday and Friday, Dec. 22-23, due to severe winter weather conditions. According to the National Weather Service, Rolla and much of Missouri will be under a winter storm warning beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday and a wind chill warning in effect from noon Thursday through noon Saturday. Stay safe during winter conditions with these winter weather tips.

Essential and other on-campus services will continue but may be limited. The Student Recreation Center, Fitness Center and Curtis Laws Wilson Library will be closed. Dining services also will be closed. Missouri S&T’s police department is open 24/7 and can be contacted at 573-341-4300. In an emergency, please dial 911.

Please check with your supervisor to determine work arrangements.  Employees fall into one of the following categories when a shift to remote work and learning takes place:

  • Those who will telework from home or another location.
  • Those who cannot carry out their duties through telework during a shift to remote operations and who are instructed that they are not required on-site to work will be compensated.
  • Those who are required to telework and choose not to must take paid time off — either personal or vacation days.
  • Those who are required to work on-site and do not report to work may need to take unpaid leave or, with supervisory approval, may use paid time off.

Details about S&T’s campus closure policies are available on the UM System website.

Be sure you are signed up for S&T Alert. A text message is the fastest way to receive alerts about emergencies and shifts to remote operations.

Winter Break starts Dec. 26
