Normal operation of Toomey Hall is expected to resume at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 31.
An electrical switch outside of Toomey Hall failed at approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30. The switch failure resulted in an electrical fire at the switch, multiple buildings losing power, and electrical fuses for other buildings being blown. The fire was limited to the electrical switch outside of Toomey Hall, and there was no damage or fire inside the building.
Crews worked overnight to resolve the issue, and power was restored to all buildings by 9:15 a.m. with the exception of Toomey Hall.
Thank you for your patience as our crews work to restore power as soon as possible to Toomey Hall. If power is not restored as expected, an S&T alert will be sent by 7 a.m. with further instructions.
