At 4:22 PM CST, the National Weather Service in Springfield issued this tornado warning for Pulaski County and Phelps County:
A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Richland, or 10 miles northwest of Waynesville, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD…Tornado and quarter size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
* Locations impacted include… Northeastern Fort Leonard Wood… Waynesville… St. Robert… Richland… Dixon… Crocker… Devil`s Elbow… Swedeborg… Ozark Springs… Jerome… This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 152 and 169, andbetween mile markers 171 and 174.
