Emerson Hall will close at 4:30 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 12, and remain closed until further notice, following a fire on the roof of the structure on Thursday, Dec. 8. A timeline for repairs and re-opening the building will be announced once the details are determined. Investigators are on site evaluating the damage.

While the building is closed, faculty, staff and students will not be able to go inside as cleaning crews work to remediate the facility. The locks to Emerson Hall’s doors have been changed. However, employees can request emergency access by contacting the University Police at 341-4300 for an escort. Requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The registrar’s office has rescheduled exams previously scheduled in Emerson Hall through Wednesday, Dec. 14. Get details of room changes on the registrar’s website.
