Campus closing at noon due to winter weather advisory

Due to a winter weather advisory, Missouri S&T will close campus at noon today (Feb. 8, 2021) and shift to remote operations following our updated campus winter weather policy. Dining services will remain open including at the Havener Center and Thomas Jefferson Hall.

Employees are reminded to check the updated winter weather policy.

  • Those who aren’t required to work on-site and will telework from home or another location. 
  • Those who cannot carry out their duties through telework and who are instructed that they are not required on-site to work will be compensated. 
  • Those who are required to telework and choose not to must take paid time off — either personal or vacation days. 
  • Those who are non-exempt (hourly) and are required to work on-site may be eligible to receive premium pay; those who are required to work on-site and choose not to will need to take paid time off — either personal or vacation days.

Phelps County is under a winter weather advisory until at least 6 p.m. this evening (Feb. 8, 2021). Freezing drizzle and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are possible making travel conditions difficult. Cold air and road temperatures could lead to hazardous travel, especially on untreated roads. The advisory may be extended beyond Monday morning, so stay tuned for updates. Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling.
